Some incredibly chunky #amosite from an insulation sample. Probably the second most common form of #asbestos we see in the lab. This sodic amphibole is characterized by long, straight, fibers that fray at the junction of greatest pressure; not unlike handfuls of straw that are bent down the middle. #science #microscopy
